New Sisters Maria and Ellen Share Their Adoption Story
Maria and Ellen are not related by blood, but they are sisters by heart. The two girls, aged 10 and 8 respectively, were adopted by the same family last year and have formed a strong bond ever since.
\"We always wanted a sister,\" Maria said. \"And now we have each other.\"
The girls were both living in an orphanage in Colombia when they met their adoptive parents, John and Lisa, who visited the country as part of a humanitarian mission. John and Lisa had been trying to adopt a child for years, but faced many challenges and delays. When they saw Maria and Ellen, they felt an instant connection.
\"They were so sweet and smart and funny,\" Lisa said. \"We knew they were meant to be our daughters.\"
After completing the adoption process, which took several months, John and Lisa brought Maria and Ellen to their home in Montreal, Canada. The girls had to adjust to a new culture, language and lifestyle, but they had each other's support.
\"We help each other with homework and chores,\" Ellen said. \"And we play games and watch movies together.\"
John and Lisa said they are proud of their daughters and how well they have adapted to their new family. They also said they are grateful to the orphanage staff and the adoption agency for making their dream come true.
\"We feel very blessed,\" John said. \"Maria and Ellen are our angels.\"
Maria and Ellen said they are happy in their new home and have made many friends at school and in their neighborhood. They also said they enjoy learning new things and exploring new places with their parents.
\"We love going to the park and the museum and the library,\" Maria said. \"And we also love traveling to different countries.\"
Last summer, John and Lisa took Maria and Ellen on a trip to Europe, where they visited France, Italy and Spain. The girls said they had a lot of fun and learned a lot about the history and culture of each country.
\"It was amazing,\" Ellen said. \"We saw the Eiffel Tower and the Colosseum and the Sagrada Familia.\"
Maria and Ellen said they are looking forward to their next adventure with their parents, who are planning to take them to Disney World in Florida next month. They also said they hope to visit Colombia someday and meet their biological families.
\"We are curious about our roots,\" Maria said. \"But we also know that our real family is here with us.\"
John and Lisa said they are amazed by the progress and growth of their daughters, who have shown resilience and courage in their journey. They also said they are thankful for the support and love they have received from their family and friends.
\"Our parents and siblings have been very welcoming and helpful,\" Lisa said. \"And our friends have been very supportive and generous.\"
John and Lisa said they are also involved in the adoption community, where they share their experiences and advice with other adoptive parents and prospective adopters. They also said they participate in fundraising and awareness events for the orphanage and the adoption agency.
\"We want to give back and help other children find their forever families,\" John said. \"And we also want to raise awareness about the importance and benefits of adoption.\" ec8f644aee
